IBM’s Virtualised Disk Solution (VDS)

VDS enables customers to add new features to their existing storage, thus enabling a higher return on the investment already made in their storage environment.

Thin provisioning: Enabling the dynamic management of storage allocation, no more over allocation of disk space and only use the disk space that it needed.

iSCSI: Utilise existing network infrastructure for applications that need SAN connectivity where it is not cost effective enough for use of Fibre Channel hot connectivity.

Migration: Migrate data between different vendors of storage array, taking away the head ache of being locked in to a certain vendor or future upgrade processes.

Centralised management of all your storage in one place reduces the requirement for training as the management interface is the same regardless of storage vendor, adding the ability to tier your storage real time by moving data between FC and SATA disk - and back, if required, with no disruption to applications or services.

With the huge discounts available on IBM’s VDS - take control of your storage now and for your growing needs in the future!

At US$22 billion in revenue last year, IBM Software Group brought in more than 42% of IBM's profits.

Recently, IBM realigned its software business by creating two umbrella organisations, IBM Software Solutions Group and IBM Software Middleware Group.
