Guide Share Europe (GSE) is a non-profit, volunteer-led IBM user group comprising of 1,000+ members. GSE creates an open dialogue and cooperation between its members, IBM and its partners through a series of events, working groups and training sessions. The GSE UK Region Conference is an annual event, taking place at Whittlebury Hall Hotel on the 7th and 8th of November this year.

Organised by the GSE conference committee, there are several keynote and plenary sessions over a broad range of topics. The conference provides 100 hours of technical training from IBM and a host of other vendors.

In 2016 the conference attracted 438 delegates with a massive 153 technical sessions. This year’s agenda is still in the development process but includes:

  • A large number of technical streams including all the usual mainframe technologies
    • zCMPA (Capacity Management & Performance Analysis)
    • New Technologies
    • 101, the stream for newcomers or recent-comers to z
  • Opening keynote presentation, to be given this year by Chris O'Malley who is the CEO and President of Compuware. His subject linking to the theme, is The Future Ready Imperative: A Mainstreamed Mainframe.
