 Bayer Suffers Malware Attack From Alleged Nation-State Group

assets.infosecurity-magazine.comwebpagerect0ab915d7-1111-456c-a0b9-70eabafa03d9The German drug manufacturer has reported a cyber-attack that occurred in the beginning of 2018, which they believe to be the work of Wicked Panda group using Winnti malware. Bayer insists that no data was stolen during the breach. Bayer has been applauded by security experts for their response to the attack. These nation-state sponsored attacks are becoming more and more frequent.

UK Universities Breached Within 2 Hours

md-duran-628456-unsplashA group of ‘ethical hackers’ from Jisc tested 50 UK universities' cyber security and were able to obtain “high value” data within 2 hours. The penetration testing of universities is a necessary security measure given that university research projects were the target of more than 1,000 cyber-attacks last year.
