Windows 7 support ends Jan 2020 (1)

Back in 2009 Microsoft committed to providing 10 years of product support for Windows 7 and that time comes to an end tomorrow, 14th January 2020. The software giant has discontinued the support to focus on their investment supporting newer technologies.

So what does this mean for Windows 7 users?

Technical assistance and security software updates/fixes that help protect your PC will no longer be available  after tomorrow, 14th January.

What should Windows 7 users do?

Microsoft strongly recommends that users move to Windows 10 asap to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available. If you find yourself running Windows 7 at your company you need to upgrade to Windows 10 or speak to your IT department ASAP. The same applies for anyone running Windows 7 at home for personal use as you are just as likely a target as your business when it comes to cyber-attacks.

Remember, it's a matter of  when, not if, you are targeted by a cyber attack.
